This lavish, limited-run coffee-table book contains over 300 photographs of contemporary visual artists at work in their studios or on location in the Bronx. Taken by 30 Bronx-based photographers, the full-color photos capture the vitality and diversity of the visual arts community in New York City’s northernmost borough. Short statements by each artist provide additional information on their work, their background, or their personal relationship with the Bronx. The book also includes a directory with examples of each participant’s work, and a listing of current Bronx arts organizations.
